6 Makeup Tips For Brides-To-Be

Your wedding day is one day where nothing short of perfection can come to pass. With all your long-awaited hopes, dreams, and fantasies coming to life, it is easy to get worked up over tiny details that might or might not materialise, to fuss over plans and venues, and what not. But looking your absolute best? That is one thing you need not worry about. The secret to get the perfect bridal look is no longer a secret with this article.

Let’s Face It

Weddings in India last for hours and to make sure your makeup survives all the light, camera and action, cleanse your face thoroughly and pat it dry so that there are no traces of dirt or oil on the face. Keep a blotting paper handy to remove excess oil or makeup.

Base Ready

Getting your base perfect is essential. In order to make your foundation and concealer hold for a long time, use a primer two minutes after applying your moisturizer and do not forget to blend it well. This will help create a smooth canvas for the foundation. Cover the blemishes with a concealer and apply a non SPF foundation evenly using a makeup brush. A foundation with SPF will give your face an undesirable ‘flash’ effect in photographs, so it’s better to avoid it. For a glowing look, use a highlighter on the higher planes of the face, such as the cheek bones, the bridge of the nose, the center of the forehead, and the Cupid’s bow.

Eye Do

Choose a mascara that’s waterproof; it lasts longer and withstands tears. If you really don’t like the look or feel, use one coat of regular mascara, then follow up with a light coat of waterproof mascara. Steer clear from experimental colours on your big day. Indian brides love gold eye makeup since it goes well with their red, fuchsia, or green lehengas, ghagras, or heavy saris. So, if you want to play it safe, this is the color to go with. Paint your eyelids with a gold or peachy pink shade, and use some charcoal shadow on the exterior lid contours to give a subtle, smokey effect. You can achieve this by using a brown shade on the inner crease area. You can also use golden eyeshadow instead of silver for the brow bones.

If you have thin lips, then line your lips along the natural line with a color that almost matches your normal skin tone. If you have plump lips, then line the natural lip line with a darker shade. Wear a lipstick that complements the whole look. Go for maroon or dark red for bigger and fuller lips, and peachy pink or light pink for thin lips. Thin-lipped people can apply a lip plumper instead of a lipgloss, whereas large-lipped people can use a simple lip-gloss, concentrating more on the center of the lip.

Hairy Tales

Hair is that one factor that can either make or break your bridal look. Make sure you indulge in good hair care routine few months prior to your wedding. Deep conditioning and hair masks offer great help. Also, remember to have some hairstyle trials before the wedding date just to ensure there is no room for trial and error on the wedding day.

Moderation Is The Key

The main idea of a perfect bridal makeup look is to accentuate the best features, and at the same time, keep the overall look simple, yet gorgeous. As it is, Indian brides are loaded with jewelry and heavy dresses, hence it is best to keep the makeup natural.

We hope this helped you decide how you want to look on your wedding and how to achieve such a look!
