How To Choose The Right Sunglass For Your Face

By  |

We all want to look chic in our sunglasses and given that the sun is ablaze most of the day, it is the perfect time to flaunt those cool shades. Sure, sunglasses scoff in the face of Ultraviolet light and perform their due diligence of protection, but they can also lend an instant, undeniable cool factor to just about anyone.

But as they say: Nothing good comes easy. Regardless of that ideal pair’s future duties, it’s the hunt for the right pair that can be trying. There are frames that work to set off your killer features but there are frames that …don’t. So how do you know which one is right one for you? That is where we come in to help you. Consider this your go-to guide on how to find the best style for your face shape.

Face Shape: Oval

If you are an oval, you are the luckiest of the bunch because this face shape is perfectly balanced! You can look great in just about anything. But you do want to keep in mind that the frames should be sized in proportion to your face. People with oval face shapes tend to have smaller faces, so do not go for majorly oversized sunglasses. You can happily pick an aviator and you are all set to win any game!

Face Shape: Heart

A heart-shaped face is characterized by a wide forehead, narrower jaw line, high cheekbones and a narrow chin. The narrowest point is at the jaw-line. Any frame that is wider on the top than it is on the bottom will do great like the cat-eye shaped sunglasses as they will accentuate your face shape the best.

Face Shape: Square

This face type has a strong jaw, wide forehead and wide cheekbones. Remember to choose frames that extend past the widest part of your face. You can soften a strong face shape by choosing sunnies with curved, rounded or rimless corners. Do not go for boxy or angular corners. You need something to balance your face shape, not exaggerate it. Go for shields or retro round frames and you will kill it there!

Face Shape: Round

A round shape is widest around the cheekbones and narrows down around the forehead and jawline. The worst frames you can wear if you have a round face are those that mimic the shape. You want frames that make your face look longer and thinner. Go for square frames or wayfarers and we will have the perfect you!

Go on, put your sunnies on now! 🙂
