MasterChef Australia Contestant Miles Pritchett – An Inspiration To All

By  |

Like every other MasterChef Australia aficionado, I cannot get enough of the latest season that is on air. The standards of cooking, presentation and creativity that amateur home cooks bring in to every new season is incredulous. Some of the dishes that the contestants plate up before the judges are worthy of a fine-dining restaurant menu. Be it Nidhi Mahajan’s exceptional style of cooking that made Marco Pierre White, the godfather of modern cooking, lick his fingers off or Matt Sinclair’s dishes that never failed to impress the three judges, these 2016 contestants know their flavors exceedingly well. But, among all of them, one home cook stood out from the crowd for me.  Miles Pritchett.

Miles Pritchett, a 46 year old Park Ranger, served as an inspiration not only to amateur cooks, but also to all the fathers out there doing something not only for themselves, but also for their kids. His culinary dream evolved through cooking with his two kids. The flavors that he used were always bold and his way of presenting his food, though, criticized by the judges, connected with rookie cooks, simply because of its ‘you-can-do-it-too’ appeal.

Miles, however, was not too lucky in the ‘lucky dip’ episode and was sent home as his dish was the least impressive of them all. Seeing him leave the MasterChef kitchen was heart-rending. But even though he is eliminated from MasterChef Australia, he continues to inspire us with his story and his love for cooking.

We wish you all the best, Miles! Cheers 🙂
