Times When Mom Was Totally Right About Things

By  |

Remember the times when we resented everything our moms stood for (because obviously, at sixteen, we had the world figured out right?) Let’s face it guys: moms are always right. We think we can outsmart them, but they know it all. Along with being geniuses, these powerful women wear many hats. They are our chauffeurs, our chefs, our nurses and overall, our life coaches.

Moms know all of the secrets to the world, and now that we are older, we can definitely appreciate the times mom was absolutely right about things.

Spend More Time With Family

Now that most of us have moved out and live alone, we tend to get homesick and the only thing that comforts us is the thought of going back home. Growing up makes you realize how important it is to spend time with your family.

Oil Your Hair

Now that you have a rough scalp and continuous hair fall, you recall her wise words.

Procrastination Will Get You Nowhere

Remember how annoyed you would get every time she would ask you not to kill time doing nothing? But she was right, fun things are more enjoyable with the weight of responsibility off your chest.

Being A Grown Up Isn’t Fun

Don’t rush your childhood, you will miss them when they are over. Do not spend your life waiting for the next part. It will all be over before you know it, so slow down and enjoy each and every moment.

You Won’t Care About It In Ten Years

No matter what the situation is, or how bad you think it may be at present, in ten years you won’t care or not even remember…so just let it go.

Always Remember Your Roots

No matter how big or successful you are, never forget who you are, or the person you were before you become who you are today. Never forget where you came from.

Do Not Slouch

How many times have you heard her say this to you? Wasn’t she just annoyingly correct, now that your bad posture has given you unnecessary back pain.

Do Not Worry About What Others Think

Why would you even want to change for someone else? “If they are that bothered to try and put you down, they are not worth your time.”

It’s Infatuation

She told you this about the guy you were obsessing over. Come to think of it, she figured it out before you did.

If You Cannot Say Something Nice, Do Not Say Anything At All

Sometimes biting our tongue is the safest option, and no one taught you better than your mom. You’ll find that people are attracted to those who radiate positivity, so keep those sassy, negative remarks to yourself.

No One Will Love You As Much As I Do

Even when you banged that door on her face or hung up her call, she still loved you more than anyone else in the world.

You Will Understand When You Are Older

This one is the truest of them all! Thanks Mom.

No matter what she tells you, or what you do in the end, you must admit that mom is (mostly) right about everything 😀
